Hello everyone,

Just a newbie from around. I also got some composition for the piano. The title is "Kulintangan".  The work is currently in progress; however, I posted it here for some comments that will help me gain perspective of its technicalities.

God Speed,

theusiv

It's quite poorly typeset, and most of the notations for lh/rh are better indicated by stem directions. I certainly would rather see stems than lh/rh, just make sure you put a footnote explaining the convention. Also, lots of ledger lines, a lot could have been avoided by cross-staff beaming and 8ve lines. I haven't done more than glanced at your score, so I can't comment on the music, however, good to see some 5/8, even if it is a little unaccented.

Best,

Jabbz,

Thank you for the very wonderful comment about the notation issues.  I would consider your suggestion.  However, about the LH and right hand, very true that it could be indicated by stem direction but it can also be indicated by the use of slurs and the L.H and R.H indicators.  The area where you see such hand division is just a matter of suggestion as to how to divide the passage; otherwise, it can be change.

Your suggestion is nevertheless helpful as to make reading relatively easy.  As I have said, i would glad to apply them to areas of the pianos where they will be of great advantage.

Sincerely,

TheusIV

Hi, i will post my most recent finished composition/movement ( not too recent at all however, about 2 months ago).

Please excuse my midi, about half way through the violin and cello turns into piano for somereason.  You're going to have to imagine the second piano to be a violin and cello.

Made using sibelius 5, i highly recommend it.

Sorry I haven't replied here recently. I assure you I'm still alive and playing piano. Just a lot of things in my mind now. I'll be sure to check back later.  :-*

Edit (8.30 pm):

Okay. Wow some nice compositions here.

frank_48, thank you! It's a nice start, hope you keep it up. Still quite short so I can't guess where it leads yet.

dozapp, what do you mean by "love of life im pulse agination"? Might be a typo there somewhere. Coincidentally, I don't like the start with the violin/ cello. It's sounds so midi. Like from an old nintendo game (super famicom or SNES?), the part where you're in enemy territory. This part ends quite abruptly.

The middle part gets a bit boring toward the end, like the idea was repeated one time too much. I don't know if that was intentional, or if you should write some variation, because soon enough it's the blazing 3rd part.

However, I am quite used to the piano midi sound and like it much better that way LOL. The last part is THE BOMB. Is this just the introduction? Because it can stand alone, sounds like mvts anyway, fast-slow-fast.

I'm reviving this thread to show something to go_mom.  ;)

Car Wash is a crazy tune I just wrote today, so sorry if it sounds incohorent. It's pretty bipolar, and the main tune rings in my ears. Take this as a warning.  :P

hey, db,  I just love it!  I enjoy the simplicity of the melody and how it goes along throughout the composition!  I expect to hear more from you though.  Yes, I hear the tune in my mind too. Love the rhythm,  it rocks!

best wishes,
