hey i was just wondering if anyone here will be playing in this? i'm not but am going to watch various parts of it.

it's pretty professional, like they only pick 36 out of the whole world of applicants and they win a big prize too:

'Prize-money will total over AUD$120,000 and extensive concert tours throughout Australia immediately after the Competition for major prize-winners. A return tour of Australia for the 1st Prize-Winner will take place in 2006. Overseas engagements are planned, together with performances in international festivals in several countries and will be undertaken by several of the major prize-winners.'

Well it looks like it's probably for proffesional pianists but there are many competitions specifically for people who don't earn the bulk of their money playing the piano which are just as tough

I've seen previous years and the pianists always rock. It's a pretty good competition.
