Boo-hoo!!!
on: November 22, 2008, 03:30:50 AM
Well, yesterday was my last voice and piano lesson. For a little while at least. The only time I ever see my teachers are at lessons, so I probably won't see them again until I go back. I almost cried in front of my voice teacher. I've known him since I was about 5 or 6 years old. And he's been my voice teacher for 3 1/2 years. I honestly don't think he can help me much more with my voice, but still...OK, I'm done rambling now....

That is strange, as the only time i used to see my teachers were at lessons as well.

Small World is it not?

I'm so sorry for your situation. If I had to leave my viola teacher, I would probably cry as well. I've known him for 4.5 years, and he's seen me grow as a person as well as a student... I'll be so sad when I go to college  :'(
It all happens on Discworld, where greed and ignorance influence human behavior... and perfectly ordinary people occasionally act like raving idiots.

A world, in short, totally unlike our own.

The other problem is, I would have had to stop piano and voice lessons next year anyway, because my teachers are planning on moving to Ireland permanently as missionaries. That will be awful for all their students. Oh well, I know people come and go in your life...I just don't like it. :P

I did not realise that the Irish were in such great need?

I dunno...I think now it's more because they'd rather live over there. :P
Their whole thing is on music and worship, I think. I'm not exactly sure of all the details. But I still wish they weren't going. (I know, I'm being selfish)

It's OK to feel selfish sometimes.  :-\

But, as you said, people come and go all the time.
As your life moves on, and the quicker it gets, the more you realise that you have to just let go and continue.

Life would be boring if nothing changed.  ;D

Yes, but right now, I have way too much change going on at the same time. Change with my friends, family, music, life, etc...I'm not gonna explain it to you though, because you wouldn't get it, it would be really hard to put into words, and it would probably bore you.

True, that is what I said, but that doesn't mean I have to like it.

You're probably right, it would bore me.

But, you are saying that others have never experienced those same feelings. Even old gits like me were young once, we all have our bad times. Just try to ensure that the good times last longer.

No, I am not saying that at all. I know there are so many people out there who have gone through the same things.

Yeah, too much change at once can be overwhelming.  But, with a change of attitude, it can be an adventure.  Usually my first reaction to some strange, unknown situation is that I don't like it - it's not what I'm used to!  But, on second thought, what could come of this?

You may find different teachers that can expose you to things you were unaware of.  You can have correspondance with your old teachers and share in their journey.

Old friends leaving makes space for new ones.

I'm not whining, I'm just...expressing my feelings in an emotional way.
