random-ness
on: November 29, 2008, 05:34:07 AM
ok. this is the offical thread for random-ness. so if you wanna be always on topic about anything and everything, you are on the right place.

me start..

hmm..

ok guys, y'all might have noticed that i often say " OMG OMG!!, .its sooo..like ..like...sooo..u know...like like "? you know, the teenage talk thingy!? right? right? ok, thing is i dont say that in real life! i am a pretty calm person ( well, half the time.. hahaa )

so why do you talk like that on a forum?: hmm..good question! and i dunno the real answer, but it started off with my being tired of hearing teenagers talk like that. i mean really sick of it to a point where if heard someone say one more: "like..", i would slap his/her face.

oouuw, harsh, and and why you use it yourself now on a forum? you don't wish people to slap your face, do you?: haha.. no. and again, good question! i guess to make fun of..hmm well...them i suppose. but then i guess i doesnt make sense right? coz i do that in various situations whether with teenagers or not *pause* and so hmm 'dunno..but i mean, i do intent to imitate and try to have some sorta fun with it. does that make sense ?

well, are you telling me you are imitating the style coz you are tired of hearing it yourself? sarcasm!? : well..yeah, sarcasm in the beginning. but time has seemed to ease off the feeling of both tiredness and sarcasm. funny. haha i sorta enjoy talking like that on the forum or chat now. i find it sorta light-hearted, easy to say, and it gets you going with what you wanna say next.

well. thats hmm interesting. so in other word you have "adopted" this teenie talk?: hmm, yes, i guess you can say that. its fun and it can heal awkward conversational situations, and break tough barriers.

dignity, love and joy.

this is my secret desire..ssssttt! been thinking lately. those who have been banned are somehow lucky it think.  ;D ;D ;Dyou think?

coz:

1. not everybody has been banned. so those ban has-beens are in the selective group of people. exclusive, shall i say?
2. ban has-beens have gone thru 2 experiences ( in and out the ban ), others just 1
3. ban has-beens have attracted special attentions from ps forum Gods
4. and most importantly, ban has-beens have more time to do other important things like practicing the piano

can i just tell nils to ban me for no co-relating reasons? haha ;D ;D ;D

I'm jealous of pianistimo. Getting banned a lot, sometimes here but not posting, and yet the numbers say she churns out 10 posts a day. I only got 5.

I am drinking the most amazing cup of hot cocoa.

This began in April when, after playing a girl’s senior recital, I received a gift, (which is not normal. I work as a the accompanist for this university, but it‘s small and they‘ll give gifts). This gift was the gift of chocolate…Archer Farms Dark Chocolate Hot Cocoa Mix. What am I going to do with that?

Fast forward to November, which is somewhat colder than April. I am in a store called Kroger, and I notice a buy one get one free sale on  Green & Black’s organic chocolate bars. I bit, and this included “Bittersweet Dark 70% Chocolate with a Soft Mint Center.”

Two pieces of this extra dark, but happy, bar decided to meet the also dark cocoa mix in hot milk, and form a dark, minty, chocolaty blend of goodness in my new brown mug, a thanksgiving gift from my beloved aunt from far away who had come near.

Yes it is very, very good, the hot cocoa.

You know Stephan Marbury makes a ridiculous amount of money to do nothing? The Knicks should release him already so he can go to Italy.

I am drinking the most amazing cup of hot cocoa.

Which reminds me to buy and drink my usual "I have to think about my life" glass of iced coffee. With milk and extra ice to make my throat even more sore.

Right now, I am watching Amelie, and feeling stupid laughing alone when I'm sad inside. Time just passes by. The soup (which we had for lunch) has cooled. It's not half as satisfying that way.

I will be learning Chopin's Waltz "L'adieu". I agree with teacher's suggestion, it does suit my mood.

It is so hot in the Philippines, it feels like April instead of November.

Instead of a piano, my parents opted to buy me a camera so I may be able to post videos here soon.

Nobody's replying on my theads anymore. Furthermore, it seems I have developed a bad reputation here. People hate me. I can understand why.

PSF used to feel like my second home, but now I don't have anywhere to go. Same as deviantART a few years back, maybe I'll be just another registered member, not a regular or anything.

Still thinking of downloading all the sheet music out there... Is it worth it? Right now am more concerned with familiarizing myself with the repertoire instead of actual playing. It is impossible to "play" EVERYTHING, but maybe, just maybe it's possible to "hear everything"?

But then... I don't think I'd want to be a teacher here. Not in this school. Preferably not in this country. I want out. Someone please offer me a scholarship somewhere. I'll work hard if only I have something to shoot for.

I shall get some more cold soup now and continue watching Amelie.

Have you noticed the reputiation thingy? In one week, I went from 4 to -. I understand I'm hated here since I've been acting as if I were a real teacher and arguing with people above me.

You are one of the very few people who like me here, sir tds. And sadly, you are not so well-liked yourself. And you're asking for a ban.

On the bottom right of each post, there is a question if you find the post useful. Which is actually points for reputiation. You can see the number on your profile if it's positive. Ours are -, so that's 0 or negative.

I don't think being banned is cool. I think making a contribution to this forum is cool. Free time doesn't necessarily translate to piano time in my case, it's mostly staring at walls if you know what I mean. I like the people here too, but they don't like me, and it hurts a little you know? Being banned just means you broke a rule, fine. Having a bad reputation is much more serious.

Don't take it seriously db! Rep systems are misused all the time. I don't know what mine is and I don't particularly care.

Like in youtube? People here are much more mature than that. And they are mostly credible, imo.

I agree. It can be easily abused and is a waste of time, but I think it's here to stay because Nils must be ignoring the amount of complaints about it on the P.S. Board. I don't use it often...only sometimes.

I will be learning Chopin's Waltz "L'adieu". I agree with teacher's suggestion, it does suit my mood.

Hey I learned that not too long ago with my new teacher.  I really like the reflective longing feeling of this waltz, but I'm never satisfied with how I play those chromatic ornaments, and my teacher hears so much that I could improve, especially with the LH.  How's it going for you?

I didn't even know there was a reputation system!  I wonder what mine is like? But more to the point, the reason I like you is that you're open. I don't feel like I'm reading somebody's careful facade, but a real person, and that's cool.  Also, you write all these piano-doubts that I also feel but don't have the nerve to speak.  But I tell myself that with every practice I'm imperceptibly improving, and you must be too if your teacher is now assigning L'adieu waltz!

Do you ever get to perform what you learn?

Nothing yet as I'm staying away from the piano until I'm sure I'm not going to bang my head on it. I listen to my pieces however, and I'm starting to get tired of those chromatic ornaments. Ruins an otherwise beautiful melody.

:-[ It comes with the "I can't deliberately lie to shoo people away" problem. And my teacher is crazy.

it was the chinese who introduced egg noodle to the italians many centuries ago. the italians adopted it, and later called it pasta. they have made a variety of shapes and kinds, including the one that we all love: lasagna!

let's say "sieh sieh" to the chinese people.. :) ;D
