Coda Bortkiewicz Op. 3 No. 1

Hi, this is a little section from Bortkiewicz's Capriccio. I was wondering if it isn't easier to play the D en C# in the left hand with the right hand? It's kind of awkward this way...It is in F-Sharp minor btw

Yes, you would play the C# and D with the left hand as it is written that way, even though the stems are going down.
The clue is that the piece is written in 9/8 time and for both clefs to have the correct number of beats those notes are written for the left hand.
