I've never heard of him either, before I joined this forum. Maybe because all of my TV over the last two years has been a few episodes of Simpsons and Family Guy.

But really, what's up with him?

Be very careful how many times you ask that question as you don't know what you could start!!!! If you really want to know who Maksim is check out the links that Bernhard suggests on one of his posts on the warning thread on the miscellaneous board!! ;)

I'll answer it better:

https://groups.msn.com/MaksimMrvica

https://www.too-manic.net/maksim/

https://www.inq7.net/lif/2003/nov/25/lif_1-1.htm

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I didn't know who the mysterious Maksim character was either so I did a little "research" on him via google and winmx. Uggh...

I hereby state this thread should be moved to "Anything but piano."  ;D

P.s.  Oh yeah, my favourite part was:
"Beneath the techno beats and the rock star demeanor is actual talent that positively dazzles even the most reluctant classical listener."

ROFL!

Despite the mailbombs I'll probably start receiving for saying this, I actually think he's somewhat funny. I would never listen to Maksim over an actual performance of a piece, but from a light-hearted April-fools type standpoint, there is some humor in what the man does.

It's so funny that the 'fans' on that group apparently enjoy the movie 'Pianist' a lot.

And then go back to Maksim and listen to his 'Right-Hand-Only-3-Mins-Silly-Bumble-Bee' trick.

I never had heard of Maksim until I was on this forum either.  But I'm about to find out.  I'll go to that thread.

The motivations for learning the piano are diverse, ranging from personal enjoyment to cultural appreciation and professional aspirations.
