Michelangeli hits a wrong note! Watch the video

For those of you who don't know, it is often claimed that pianist Michelangeli never, never missed a note.  Well here is proof to the contrary.  The wrong note occurs at 5:23.

That's not the only one. There's one in Chopin Scherzo no 2, but I can't find it anymore on youtube :P

The thing about Michelangeli never hitting a wrong note was a bit of a tounge-in-cheek statement about him having the best technique. As usual, people only take things at face value and have distorted this. It is like saying the Titanic was unsinkable; Nobody at the time really actually believed that, but something pretty drastic would have to happen to sink it.

These mistakes are glaring because of the perfection surrounding them. Maybe there are more, it seems like a waste of time to pick at Michelangeli. These mistakes don't matter much to me.

I have a cd with is live brahms paganini variations on...and there are looooads of wrong notes on that.
