Best overall editions for piano pieces?
on: June 04, 2004, 08:00:35 AM
What "brand" is best in general?

Do you recommend, the Alfred Masterworks Edition, Henle, ABRSM, etc...?

I primarily use Alfred because they normally have a lot of "background" information.  Henle I've heard is good for "purity".  I've heard people recommend the ABRSM, but being in Alabama, USA I'd have to order it.

I use Dover, because they print lots of copied stuff from official brands like Edition Peters, and charge half the price.  Edito Musica Budipest is always great- very clear notes.  There was a page a short while ago about the best publishers...maybe Bernhard can give you the page...I cant find it..
