La Campanella
on: January 04, 2009, 10:39:43 AM
I have been playing this for 5-6 months. Constructive criticism appreciated. (finally been able to take a video, sorry it's just an ordinary camera).

I have been playing the piano for two years (of which I don't have a teacher for most of the time). I taught myself this piece (along with most others). I hope I didn't offend anybody. I know there is this stigma with la campanella but i just love it.

I think you are talented. But if you love this piece and if you love yourself, please go study with a teacher. Your hands and arms are way too stiff, it hurts to even watch this. You will damage your apparatus if you continue like this.

Thanks. you mean the forearms? Im enlisting into compulsory national service soon, so i don't think i will be able to get guidance from a teacher soon. (gotta drop piano more or less) for the next two years. So im playing for fun

I mean especially the wrists. But it looks as if there is tension in your whole arms. Of course it's a good thing to play for fun, but playing with a more relaxed technique would be more fun  :)
