Interesting article, and very true. I've been watching this happen for a long time time now, so it's no surprise to me. The analogy to the current auto industry bailout is dead on, I think. The same author recently wrote another article about decline in American musical education standards and practices. It's somewhere in their archives but I'm not finding it. Here are some others...
