Albeniz Concierto Fantastico
on: March 05, 2009, 12:35:37 AM
Has anyone ever heard this before? I just found it and it's pretty interesting, and I was wondering if anyone's played it or knows how difficult it is. It definitely looks like it's on the lower end of the concerto difficulty spectrum, but I haven't tried playing through it. You can find the sheet music here: https://imslp.org/wiki/Special:FMWCUSPDisplay/Disclaimer&vals=id=01151
There's also a recording on Naxos. Thanks for any comments

I've heard this piece before. In all honesty, it doesn't seem that difficult. However, it didn't strike me as being one of his better works. I find the Rapsodia Española for piano and orchestra a much more attractive work, personally speaking. There is even an arrangement for the same medium (with a better piano part) by Cristóbal Halffter which is even better. I would rather go after one of those personally.
