Dear forum readers,

I hope that some of you already know the International Piano Competition “The Muse” and its good name. It has been held annually on one of the most beautiful islands of Greece – Santorini.

During this time the organizing committee has been asked many times if younger musicians could participate in it, but due to the age limit of the competition it would not be possible. However, this year we have decided to dedicate the contest to young performers not older than 17 years of age in piano, violin, and cello categories. “The Muse Junior” 2009 will be held on the island of Santorini from September 3 until 6, 2009 in the concert hall of a 17 century mansion – “Megaro Gyzi”.

Program:

Junior Group (not older than 11 years of age) – one or more pieces of different character, as selected by the participant. Not more than 6 minutes total.

Intermediate Group (between 12 and 14) – one or more pieces of different character, as selected by the participant. Not more than 8 minutes total.

Teenage Group (between 15 and 17) – one or more pieces of different character, as selected by the participant. Not more than 15 minutes total.

For more information please go to the official website: www.themuse.gr

Thank you and hope to see you there!
