Someone stole the smileys from the signature.  I think it was Nils.  (Bob thinks Nils is now selling his smileys on the Swedish black market.)

Haha.  I don't think Nils likes things to move around a lot on the pages.

I'm celebrating the triumph of a good friend, and looking at myself with that wonder, "Are you a musician?" Meanwhile (a mean while) I have this duel feeling of having a lot on my plate and nothing much to do.

Today was a *very* good day, by the way. And in the way, too!

(But when and how will I compose again? Is that the life I should breathe?)

(No it's not!)

(But...)

Is this thread about anything? I forgot.

Not much. I am at home all the time because of my social phobia. I am going to visit a coach soon that will help me finding some kind of activity or work outside my home. I play the piano a lot everyday and when I don't play the piano I draw faces or am on singsnap.com (a karaoke site). I can't sing well but I have tons of fun doing it. I also love to play with my dog and being with my mom. :)

This is one of my drawings:

SO: tomorrow I have music theory exams! I have to be there 15 minutes to 2 p.m. and then at 2 we are writing 1st grade test and two dictations. And then at 3 p.m. we are writing 2nd grade test and two dictations (and also that half and whole tone hearing test). Then at 4.30 p.m. everyone goes in by themselves and they tell you what mistakes you made at the test and then you have to  do some exercises and sight singing - that's for first grade, and at 6 p.m. the same for 2nd grade. And then on friday....... piano exams! well we'll see if I survive all that!  :-\ Think of me!  :)

So today was really cool at the exams! :)  8) We weren't writing a test for 1st and 2nd grade but just for 2nd grade. And I only had one mistake (with half and whole tones  ::) just cause I changed it later  ::) ) but other than that I didn't have any mistakes in the test and not in the dictations either!!!  :o  :)  8)  :P . And then I had to sight sing some exercises (for 1st and 2nd grade) and there were three teachers there and they were writing something and they were really nice cause I was nervous at first and I couldn't start singing right at first, and they said I can wait a little and then I did and I sang it in my head and then it was ok :) and then they said I should wait outside a little but I didn't really have to wait very much because one of the teachers came out and said: 5 of course... and 5 is the best grade! :)  :)  :)  :)  :) . We have grades from 1 to 5. And 1 means you didn't pass the exam, and 2 means you just passed, and 3 is good, and 4 is very good, and 5 is excellent.  :) So I am really happy now!!!!!!!  :)  :D  :P  8)  :)  :)
But tomorrow.......... piano exam............ At 4 p.m. (but I have to be there at 3.30 or even sooner) and I don't think that will be so good because my hands will be shaking and I'll make mistakes.. :-\  :(  >:( oh well I won't think about that I'll just try to enjoy!!! Playing on a Steinway grand piano!!!!!!!! who cares about those teachers there and about the grade I'll get  ::)  :P  :P  :P  :)

Well... it's one bad and one good thing... The bad thing is that my dad is in a bad mood again... and he is arguing with my mum.....
And the good thing is I got a 5 (the best grade) for my 1st and 2nd grade piano exam!!!  :)
So now I have 2 grades of music theory and piano! :) (but I think 2nd grade in our country is like 1st abrsm.)
And it was cool at the exam and all the teachers were really nice. And before the exam I was playing on another grand piano to warm up (but not on a Steinway but Yamaha) and there was another grand piano in that room. And another girl that had the exam right after me was playing in another room on another grand piano and there was also another grand piano in that room :) I wish I could go there sometimes to practice!!!!!!!!!!! And at first at the exam was really funny because they have this weird piano bench (if that's what's it called) that you move up and down like you have to move one thing underneath and if you don't sit on the bench it just jumps up and if you sit on it then it goes down... and when I came there it was too high so I moved that thing while I was sitting on the bench and it just fell down so then it was too low... and then my teacher came to help me and she put it too high again and then when she wanted to put it a little lower again that thing that you have to move  didn't want to move anymore  ;D so then one of those teachers came to help :) I think someone should have recorded that! I think it would be a funny video of me and my teacher fighting with that piano bench at my piano exam  ;D but all those teachers were really nice and they weren't angry or something :) So then I started playing and I made a mistake at my 3rd piece for 2nd grade but I just went on. And when I was playing the 2nd and 3rd piece for 2nd grade my hands were shaking. But then I really liked playing the last one cause it's really nice and relaxing :) and when I finished and I looked at the teachers they were all smiling :) and my piano teacher was smiling a lot too :)  :) that was really cool :) but I was still worried cause i did make a mistake. And then that other girl went in and then we had to wait for a while.... and then one teacher came out and said we got a 5! and our teacher asked if both of us got a 5 and she said yes :) and we were really happy  :)  :P And that other girl's mum was there too (my mum couldn't be cause she was at work, but that girl is just 8 or 9 or something) and she was really nice too and she said that was really stressful for us cause we were still a little too little for all that (well I don't know if she meant me too cause I'm older). And she congratulated me too. And she asked me how many hours a day I practice. And my teacher said I was good :)
But my parents don't have time to be happy about my exams cause they're arguing, well my mum was but now she's sad.
Well I'm happy about my exams!  :) I'm really happy  :)  :) And it's soooo cool to play on a grand piano!!!  8)  8)   8) and that school is soooo cool!!!  8)  8)  8)  :)

Yes that's one good, well actually many good, and one bad news. Congratulations on your successful exam!! :)

I remember how much I suffered as a child when my parents got into arguments with each other. I remember once ( I think I must have been 5 or 6 years old) I started crying and yelling at them: Don't argue! Be at Peace!

It felt like dying to me...

I hope all will be okay. My parents were okay after all, they stayed together until my dad passed away a few years ago, so I guess it was a really good marriage after all :)

Thank you Wolfi!  :)

Well yes it feels kinda like being sick when we're arguing... like our whole family is being sick... cause when you're sick you can't do so much and you can't do the things you would like to do because you're too tired and everything hurts...

But the exams were really great!!! I can't believe it was sooo great!!!!!!! Just perfect!!  :)  :P  8)

On saturday I have my final recital this year (i mean before summer holidays). The recital will have three parts (I'm in the second one, i'm the 3rd in the second part, which starts at 1 p.m.), because there's almost 100 of us!!!!  :o  :)
And I had my piano lesson today (and my teacher gave me some new pieces to learn - for during the summer holidays)... and then I only have my piano lesson one more time next week and then I won't have any piano lessons till september!!!    :( :'(
And today when I was going home from my piano lesson it started raining sooooooo much!!! I had to wait under a bridge or whatever that is (it's just a small bridge I guess  :-\ cars can drive over it and people go under it). And there was also thunder and lightning so it was really scary but it was also cool because it was raining so much that the water was running like a little river under that bridge and the wind was blowing so it was carrying the rain under the bridge and it was like being near a sprinkler! :) that was cool  8) But at first I was really scared but then some other people came and waited there for a while too so then it wasn't that scary anymore. so it was just cool!  :)

So today is the last day of school in my country! Tomorrow is a national holiday (I think it's when our country has become independent or something like that). And today I just have my piano lesson at 5 and then it's over for the summer  :'( .... I mean holidays are great and summer is great, but I will miss my piano lessons!! and even my music theory!! But I'll play my piano A LOT!! So that will be great! :) And I will teach my mum to play piano, because I started teaching her when I first got my piano but she never had time, so I hope she will have more time now!!!

Hello, I've been busy in another forum displaying my artwork since last Fall.
I've been doing portraits in graphite for commissions in order to earn $$ somehow.
I only have 8 piano students so things are quite slow for me.  I hope to obtain more
students this Fall....I still practice piano and violin.

Well, my monster nearly rules me lately.  It is exhausting me completely and I walk around like a zombie now for a couple of weeks and in a music and piano daze.  Everything, lately, it tells me looks like food.  I am driving along and the trees and mountains look like meat for my monster, and music sounds like meat, and reading reads like meat.  My monster is just hungry, hungry ... and absorbing so, so, so, so much.  And, I can't sleep because my monster wakes me up, wanting to go to the piano in the wee hours of the morning, even when I can hardly hold open my eyes anymore and I am literally nearly sleeping at the piano.  And, when I sleep my monster is still stirring and being itchy and musical.  I am going to try to go to sleep early tonight.

Today was my first piano lesson after the summer holidays!  :P  :)  :D  8)  :) and it was really cool!  8)  8) My teacher was really happy :) and she said I was a good girl for practicing so much during the holidays  :)  :P and first when i played the first piece she said that it was really good and then the next one too and the next one she was really surprised and then when I played the last one she was like:  :o like in a good way and she was smiling and said it was really great that I learned the pieces so well  :) I mean it wasn't all perfect of course and she told me about the things I still have to practice, but she was really surprised that I learned the pieces so well  :)  :P so I was really happy  :)  :)  :P
Except I'm a little worried cause that doggy wasn't there  :( I hope he's ok! I haven't seen him for sooo long!
And because it was raining really a lot and there was lightning and everything my mum asked my dad if he could drive me and then my dad always wants my mum to go too and my dog and my cat were afraid of lightning and thunder so we all went  :) My dad, and my mum and my dog and my cat and me :D  :D  but then when we came to my school it wasn't raining anymore so they went for a walk with my dog and my cat, because my cat is used to walking on a leash like a dog :) and she doesn't mind it at all and she likes going for walks on a leash 100 times more than my doggy  :) so when my lesson was over and I came out my dog was in the car with my dad and my cat was in the tree and my mum under the tree  :) but then my cat saw a bird and she climbed even higher and then she was afraid to come down. So then I climbed into a tree too to get my cat...  and I really like climbing trees anyway  :P but it was all wet and slippery so it wasn't that easy, and my clothes got all dirty  :P But it was really cool  8)  8)
And now it's raining again!  ::)  :)  :)  :P  :P

Sounds cool. What kind of artist are you?

I just got a new basketballteacher. Hes very smart, know alot from the NBA, comes from the US and speaks german fluently. I really love to be one of his student, he is really motivating and is a real philosopher when it comes to speaking about basketball.

And I walked home then because I didn't wanna go by bus because the weather was really great and it was really warm after a long time... but it's really far... and I needed 1 hour and a half! and I was walking fast! And it was cool, but then at the end I was sooo thirsty that I was seeing water in my head all the time :)

Just trying to come to terms with the uncomfortable fact that my new haircut looks like an upscale mullet.  Not cool.  Not cool at all.

I wouldn't worry, it probably goes well with your moustache.

On anothder thread, you sought to claim that littletune's presence on this board made you feel about 12; clearly, this did not denote your waist measurement either in imperial inches or proper metric centimetres, but we need not worry about this, since your answer above now clarifies beyond any doubt that this figure refers to the age that you feel, as such a comment could hardly have come from anyone above that age.

Yeah  :).  Actually, monsty enjoys it a little, I hate to say ... hee hee.

What's up in my life right now is that everyday I become more percent monsty, but I don't know what percent I currently am.  I thought maybe monsty would just completely pop out one day, but that's not how it's going down.  I have to let monsty emerge bit by bit, day by day.  Sometimes even that is so much at once!  Each morning now I wake up to my alarm clock at 3am, and I go and sit on the living room floor before I start my practicing, and I get really quiet and concentrated and come to terms with things.  At this point, I have learned that the sun actually does come up every day and the rest of the world gradually does wake up, too, but sometimes it has seemed like it wouldn't be so!  But now, when it seems that way, I realize that it seems that way but then the dawn actually still comes and life turns somewhat normal (though everyday is a little less normal).

Okay.  Well, sometimes it seems like it has a tail and stuff, but I don't think it does.  It's a massive force though, and I have realized that I need to actually let it shape every portion of who I am, and not try to decide what it has to be like -- it forms me, I don't form it.

It's OK, Alistair, I believe there is a little moustache (and mullet!) in all of us ... we just need to discover it and be patient while it unfolds within our lives :).  In spiritual reality, we are all One in moustache and mullethood.  We are one big spiritually hairy family.  Anybody who denies this is just fooling themselves.

Thanks :).

Ugh.  I am just *bursting* with burny thoughts and feelings lately.  It comes in waves.  Sometimes it's so intense for an hour or even a day (or maybe even dayS ?) and the whole world is turned upside down, and I just wish I could burst out to somebody (and maybe devour them  ;D)!  Eventually I can calm myself down and sometimes I wake up in the wee hours and wonder what ever seemed so different the day before, but it's a very intense way to live.  I can say though that it's a *very* good thing I've got some plans, otherwise Monsty would eat me up completely.

Not wanting to state the obvious I've held back suggesting you try getting into sports. Even regular exercise can do a lot to silence the aggressive voice inside. If it still is talking you can crank up the level of contact and aggression of the sport. I'm in contact with a lot of "cage" fighters (MMA) and they speak of having a similar voices inside before they got into the sport.

Whatever you do you must try to silence that voice. Allowing it to grow could lead to a split. Remember, " that a house divided against itself will fall." And, in a civil war there are no winners.

Thank you, Wolfi :).  Yes, I keep trying to write it out, make charts about it and then even draw it out, but there are never enough dimensions.  I am needing to be very patient while it unfolds each day in concept.  I think that ultmately it will be expressed in music that I play, sing, and write, but I am trying to condense into one idea something that seems like a huge web (though it originates as one idea and I can already 'get' that).  I'll get there :).

Yes that's it: there are never enough dimensions! And we can't always only be patient, patient!  >:(

Yeah, but I wonder if we are thinking of the same thing?  For a little moment I am feeling patient :).  So far I can only hold(ish) this all in concept, and it's something somewhat concrete there and expanding still.  But, do you suggest that it can *only* be expressed in music?  And, I don't even know for sure if what I am thinking is what composers were thinking, but I am starting to think it is.  And, if it is, it's a crazy thing :).

One little snippet that I can manage to actually put into words is that I am beginning to think of something like minor chords as not just minor chords but, along the lines of thinking of chords as something like scales with holes in it, you can think of minor chords in modes.  For example, you can think of d minor as a(n) Dorian chord, a Phrygian chord, or an Aeolian chord (and each of these modes could be considered "minor" or so).  But, there's tons more to it.

*only* in music? Not necessarily. But it is you as a creator and artist who decides what to express and how.

I have heard you play d-f-g as a chord I so never heard before, though this combination appears otherwhere in music. But the "context" you played it in was different. Analysis comes afterwards. Creation is first.
