appassionata question
on: May 25, 2009, 09:47:36 PM
i'm having trouble playing the following melody:

in these measures:

i don't understand how to emphasize the melody correctly, perhaps i don't understand the rhythm... can someone suggest a fingering and also explain how to emphasize the melody properly?

practice it thusly,
this is the fingering for the right hand, figuring out the left is ez
421242524242 - 421241413121
now, what i did is first got the fingering in the my fingers by practicing very slowly and forte every finger. then once u get that down, play the melodic notes, 4-4-5-4-4, and 4-4-4-3-2 forte normally while the other inner notes are played staccato, this is probably done even slower than the first part.
hope that helps.

More weight on the outer fingers. You could also use pedal to define phrasing. The bass note of the LH is good to bring out the strong beats.
Experiment playing it as solid chords.

Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach
