on: June 06, 2009, 10:23:34 AM
Hi pianophiles - here is an almost finished set of variations on a tune (still missing the final two variations). Thanks for listening, and tell me what you think  :-*

I had to laugh and smile, "It's the Flintstones"  and that melody I am quite familiar with!  lol
It's a refreshing and delightful piece to listen!  Light and airy.  I love the variations too.  You have some mighty fine fingerworks!   Thanks for sharing!   :)

best wishes,

Go_12 - thanks for the compliments! I forgot to mention however that this is not me playing, I'm using Sibelius and sample library (Garritan Personal Orchestra) on the computer.

Anyway, the piece is now finished, after nearly 8 months in the making. PDF is uploaded too:

Thanks for listening  :-*

I love it!   8)  There are quite a bit of styles in there.  What was your inspiration for doing this?

Now that you have provided the score, I am tempted to learn it.
Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach

I'm glad you like it  ;D

As for inspiration, at the time the tune was playing in my head and I got some ideas for variations 1 & 2. Over time sketches for the other variations popped into mind and the writing followed suit.
