Really, no book can replace a good teacher but here are a few that can put you back on the piano track. Welcome back.
1) Fundamentals of Piano Practice by Chuan C. Chang. This is a free book which you can download from the URL below. Helped me a lot and the author recommends the two books below among others.
https://www.sinerj.org/~loyer/PianoBook/
2) Sandor, Gyorgy, "On Piano Playing". Very good. I am still in the process of reading it and trying out stuff it recommends.
3) Fink, Seymour, "Mastering Piano Technique". I have not read this but it is supposed to be more comprehensive than Sandor's.
Of course, you can also post questions on this forum and Bernhard will write a book to answer your questions.

Cellodude gave you a nice list. I'd like to add Thomas Mark's "What every pianist needs to know about the body". Everybody on this forum must have realized by now that I do care a lot about the human playing apparatus and how to keep it healthy. The books that were mentioned do contain a lot of useful information about this, but nothing is so thorough, concise and up to date as Thomas Mark's book. Check out his website at

. What good is all the sheetmusic in the world when you have pain in your fingers.

lowest price i could find this for is $52
Yeah, they're a bit expensive. The one I'm reading is not mine but it belongs to my childrens' piano and violin teacher. Try Fink's it is supposed to be cheaper than Sandor's. Or you can download Chang's book first. A lot of what he says are in Sandor's book as well.
