I read on a random blog that Yundi Li got dropped from his DG(Deutsche Grammaphone) contract because he play the wrong selection for his Carnegie Hall Debut.
I don't know if that's correct.

I personally am glad to see him go. He is a pianist that contributed nothing to the world of music. He was just another young pianist who sucked on DG's teat that they could flaunt around. Now that they have Yuja Wang, they don't need Yundi Li anymore, because Yuja Wang is now sucking their proverbial corporate teat.

It's all opinion, there are far too many pianists, I guess DG just found a better pianist. Yundi Li and Lang Lang are definitely the new generation super pianist. blablabla. ::)

Piano Street now provides sheet music for his complete piano works: a body of music that resists spectacle, even as it brims with invention and brilliance. Read more
