Kawai 3 or Kawai KS 5

Looking for a starter instrument that will see us through exams to Grade 8 level. Would you go with the Kawai 3 or the Kawai KS 5, KS 5 is from Japan and is $2000 Au dollars less. Is the Kawai 5 worth paying extra for?
