Scriabin: Poeme Op. 32 No. 1
on: September 01, 2009, 12:55:05 PM
This is another one of the pieces I'm working on for my grade 8 exam in November. Again, it should probably be at a higher standard by now, but I've been unfortunately busy for the past couple of months. Comments and suggestions are welcome and appreciated!

Thank you! I'm glad you liked it. And yes, the piano needs to be tuned. It hasn't been tuned in at least 3 years... :-[

Hi kelly_kelly,

Bravo!  I really enjoyed your rendition.  You have some very nice turns of phrase and nuances there.  Very sensitively played.

I think I might bring back my recording of Op. 31, No. 2 here.  That way, members can hear the two as a pair as intended by the composer which would be nice.  (I have yet to get around to recording the "Poeme" No. 1.)

Thank you, rachfan and zheer! rachfan, I'm really glad you pulled up your recording of op. 32 no. 2. Maybe after my exam I'll learn it and complete the set  :)

Hi kelly_kelly,

You're entirely welcome! Plus I think that having the companion Poeme here gives your recording additional plays.  Best of luck on your upcoming exam!  And yes, if you could learn the Poeme No. 2, it would give you the pair for your repertoire and a feather in your cap too.
