My Repertoire (helP)

hI, Im creating a repertoire so any advices r accepted.

this is what i have now

*The Cuckoo  ...........................................Daquin
*Rondeau      ...........................................Kuhlao
*Arabesque#1.........................................Debussy
*Moonlight Sonata (1st and 2nd mov.)....Beethoven
*Sonata         ..........................................Diabely
*Pavane for a dead princess ..................Ravel..

so what else do u recommend me to add or change?

Yes... Add the 3rd movement of "Moonlight". Trust me, I've sat through countless performances of the 1st movement... and all I can do is let out a HUGE sigh, unless the third movement is to be played afterwords.

-Third movements are always the best! You can't leave the sonata unfinished!

Add Debussy's Claire de Lune- always a crowd pleaser, and a great compliment with the Arabesque.
Oh, and just a note: You mean "diabelli", not "diabely" right?  Or maybe Im wrong..

ya definitely learn the moonlite 3 and learn something else fast to contrast with the arabesque and the pavane... a tocatta maybe ... u mite also wanna learn a rachmaninoff piece no repetoire is complete without something of his!

I'll join the choir of "learn the 3rd movement". It can come comfortably if you have mastered the 1st movement, just don't be afraid of the speed but build it gradually. About the 2nd movement it is good to remember that Horowitz was very frustrated with how that movement was often performed carelessly and wrong by otherwise profound pianists. It is a relatively difficult piece to interpret. Finish the sonata while you're at it, a friend of mine says he can't listen to parts of it without the other two.

Hmmm.. Pherhaps you should change your Beethoven Sonata. I agree with the others that the third mvt should not be left behind. Though, it's quite hard and demands alot of time and effort. I would pherhaps recommend Pathetique. There's also a mvt, the second, which makes women cry and grandmothers faint. And neither the 1st nor the third are so difficult that they should be looked on as a project each.

Learn the 2nd Arabesque, then concentrate on other composers - you're lacking in a lot of classical and romantic composers that could be very beneficial to study their works.
