What to play next?
on: November 24, 2009, 02:12:20 PM
Hello all, I can play Anh. 116 and I was wonderig what level this would be at.

Also what are these Inventions that Bach created and what exactly does INVENTION mean in this case, are they for students?

I can also play anh 113 and some others, I was looking at anh.122 and Gavotte in G.

Are there any other songs around my level you would recommend?

He has 2 part inventions (2 voices, typically one voice per hand), and 3 part inventions (also known as sinfonias).

I'd say they are very good pieces for students; they give a pretty good foundation for contrapuntal music.

Take a look at his 2 part inventions, some of them are extremely fun to play.
