I have a yahama grand C5, i think its the model above the C3, i think they havent made a C4- I haven't tried the kawai. But it depends just on the piano it self, no yamaha is alike and no kawais are alike.
But if you are thinking about buying, get some expert to come with you who not only has a good taste in pianos and the tone they produce but allso knows how the pianos work and can give you advice about wich one to buy

Kawai Rx 3 no doubt. They have a new line called Rx Blak series, even better!

Quite a difference btw the Yamaha G3 and C3 just in overall build quality, tone and performance. Both good, C series much better.
The C3 is 6'1" and the C5 is 6'11".
Both the Yamaha C and the RX Kawai are very good pianos. The Kawai uses plastic wippens (action parts) but I wouldn't let that scare you. Plastic is impervious to heat and humidity change although the felt bushings still would be and the flange pins are still metal and corode like in any piano.
I can't endorse pianos of such like quality. You would have the play the stuffing out of them and choose the one you like best.
