Rudolph, The Red-Nosed Reindeer :))
on: December 24, 2009, 07:50:54 PM
ok... I know nobody here really wishes to hear Rudolph, especially not played by me... but I just wanted to wish everybody from pianostreet a merry Christmas and nice holidays and a very happy New year... with A LOT of great music! :) and A LOT of piano playing! :)  :D and Rudolph kinda goes well with Christmas :)
well yesterday I played Rudolph on my first piano recital...it wasn't as bad as i was afraid it would be  :)  i know its not good (and there are mistakes), but its the best i can do for now i guess... and i dont really expect that anyone will listen to this :) but ...( maybe thats kinda like when 3-year olds draw a few lines on a paper and then they give that to someone, and noone knows what that is and noone thinks its great but it was still meant as a present and as something nice) ... so... MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE! :)

One more reason that you shouldn't talk so badly about yourself :)
It's cute, good job. very good intro :) I just would suggest to play the fast part a bit more lightly, you know, not so much emphasis on the bass notes, of course they need to be steady but they might dance more instead of just walking, it sounds a bit heavy.
that part you have problems with: I think it's the modulation and/or the fingering that is irritating you. You need to be more safe with your choosen fingering. Probably you have tried a few different ones and eventually ended up in confusion.

:) thank you! :) yes i know about the bass notes, my teacher said that too.... but its just so hard to think about both hands at the same time and play differently :) but i will practice that more. especially if i get a piano :) i think i will  :) :P  :D soon!!! :)
and for that part  i think at first i learnt it the wrong way and then my teacher told me how it should be, but then i guess i just forgot yesterday because i was so afraid :) just before i went on the stage i thought about that part and i just couldnt remember anymore how it should be... :) thank you ! :)

Thank you thank you for the comments!! :)  :) I have been practicing a lot yesterday and i was thinking about what pianowolfi has said about the bass notes that should rather be dancing instead of just walking heavy :) And it really helped me!! because my teacher just said that i was playing the left hand too loud and that the right hand should be louder all the time... so i was trying to play louder with the right hand but i was trying so hard (and concentrating just on the right hand) that i always started playing really loud with my left hand as well :). and yesterday i just imagined the left hand and how it should sound more like dancing (and not as if some bear or an elephant is walking  ;D ). And now i think i really know how it should be... i still sometimes play some notes too loud (or too quiet ) but i know what its supposed to sound like and how im supposed to do that :) so that was really helpful! :)  :) thank you again for your comments everybody! :) :) :) i wish you all very nice and cool holidays  8)  :)  :D
