Only last week I was saddened to discover Bill Harris had died last year. My brief correspondence with him a couple of years ago revealed a musical mind of astonishing insight. To anybody deeply interested in improvisation I recommend his essays on that subject and his writing in general. You might not always agree with him but he will make you think.
