Casio digital piano
on: January 11, 2010, 06:47:11 PM
Hello. I am new to this forum and a very beginner in piano playing. I bought a Casio Celviano AP 45 and I would like to hear people's opinion about this digital piano. Thank you.

Making the assumption that you have Casio's top of the line instrument, I have only good things to say about it. I used one to practice on for about three months when the studio replaced their previous one with this one, after ten years of student lessons. They didn't tell me the model number of the new one (which came as a bit of a surprise) except to say it was the top of the line (most expensive).
I decided against it for my personal purchase simply because with the case it was too big. I'm using a Yamaha P85 which from the player's perspective looks the same except for the missing little red window with numbers.
I prefer to use earphones with either instrument to avoid disturbing others..

Thank you for your reply. The model I bought was discontinued (they still have some for sale in different stores). The reason I posted this question is because I went to a music store after placing the order for Casio and the salesman almost laughed when I told him about Casio (that store sells Yamaha and Roland only). It sounds good to me but being a beginner I don't have a very experimented ear. However it was a good deal and if I progress enough in the enext few years I can always upgrade. I am hoping to hear from people with experience who have played already on Casio.

Thankfully you didn't buy it used. I think you will like it. I was very happy with the touch and the sound for the three months it was almost my own.
