Prices on Kawai RX-1 and GE-30

Hi!  This is my first post here...I can't believe I didn't discover this site sooner!

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on the prices of the Kawai RX-1 and the GE-30, both new.  Any information anyone had on both pianos would be fantastic

u 'd better choose RX1

RX series use mahogany hammers with underfelted ,GE use maple hammers with underfelted
RX have lock ,GE does't have

I think the GE-30 is larger (not totally sure of that though).

I've played both.  The RX series would have better materials in it.   Does this particular RX1 come with Millennium 3 action?  If so, it may have an edge over the GE-30.

This may be a trade off between larger vs better materials.  They are both good pianos, which tone do you prefer?

Thanks for clearing that up. 

In this case I'd also go with RX1, unless the GE30 has superior voicing and prep, or you like the tone of it better.

If the Yamaha was a C series, it would be a harder choice. I'd go with the RX1 in this case.

What Yamaha? Last time I checked, Kawai makes those GE-30s

And between Kawai RX and Yamaha C grands, I'd choose the Kawai in a heartbeat. It's a proper musical instrument the Kawai - absolutely trounces the Yamaha in every respect except price and bashability. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if in 5 years the Yamaha sounds no better than a Samick grand.

I'd have to disagree.  I went shopping and RX's were cheaper than C's.

Not as sure on that.  They are generally rated to be in the same class as each other.  You'd think the ABS with carbon fiber in the RX's would last forever.
