Igor Dekleva-Klovni (Clowns)-1st or 2nd grade piece
on: March 26, 2010, 08:17:15 PM
Well... nobody said I shouldn't post here (and Pianowolfi said I should :) ) so I will even if this is just a very easy and short piece for babys  :) (And it says in the title that it's a 1st or 2nd grade piece so people don't have to even read the post)
I have played this at my recital and I did make a few mistakes  :-[ and we were playing just on a keyboard not on the real piano. So then I also played it at home on my piano (not tuned yet). So i will post that too. And also a link for the video on youtube. I even had some clowns sitting on my piano when I was playing (i mean toy clowns :) :) ) And of those two that I have recorded at home ( the one that's just audio and the other that's video) I think the one that's audio is better except for the last note (because I pressed -just a little- the next key as well). Well so that's all :)
oh and a picture of my toy clowns on my piano :)

I like the audio version most, the recital version suffers quite a bit from the bad conditions you have described already somewhere else, i.e. no real piano and the speakers far away. Plus the long waiting time etc.

I would suggest to soften your touch a slightly bit, try to play a bit more elastically, as it tends to sound a bit hard. I noticed that also in some of your other recordings on youtube. Aside from that, it's a cheery and lively performance :)

Thank you :)
What should I do? Do I have to relax my arms more or something? It's just that my teacher is always telling me I don't press the keys enough like that I don't press them completely :) and that I'm playing too quiet (maybe that's just on my piano lessons :) ). Or is this something else?
 :-\ I'm not sure :)

Just listen to yourself. How does it sound? Does it sound hard? Or does it sound graceful and light, even in the forte parts? Does it sound heavy? Or more like flowing/walking or hopping lightly over the fields? Sometimes you might close your eyes and just dive into the sound and its fine differentiations.

Thank you! I will try to do that :) And im sorry for asking stupid questions I just got confused because my teacher is telling me ALL the time that I'm playing to quiet and that I don't press the keys enough and that I'm moving my hands too much (i mean my wrists) and that I'm counting with my hands :) (instead of just in my mind) and so I try all the time not to move my hands too much and to press the keys completely and so Im not sure how to do all that and at the same time play more lightly... well I will try :) Im not sure if I can do it but i will sure try :) im just not sure how will I know when it will be ok  :-\ i mean i will try to listen (i did today already) but im not sure... oh well we'll see I mean hear :) thanks pianowolfi! :)
