brahms intermezzo help

Wonder if there was someone that could help.....in the second bar of op 118 no 1 is middle C played with the right hand or left hand?  At the moment I am playing it with the right hand thumb but not sure whether to play this under or over the left hand.  This also goes for the first a in bar 4.

Right hand, over left, in both cases.
