Chickering model 121 circa 1915
on: May 16, 2010, 08:50:24 PM
Hello,
I'm new to the forum - considering buying a Chickering model 121 quarter grand. Price is $2650 at an estate sale, it needs tuning and the lowest black key damper doesn't work, but it seems to be in quite good condition and has been in the same family since it was first purchased (circa 1915 I am told). I cannot locate the serial number ANYWHERE - can anyone tell me or show me where to find it on this model? I've crawled all over the thing.

I'm also interested in other thoughts on this model from the community.

Thank you-
Matt

I owned one. I don't remember knowing a serial number. What kind of wood is it made of? Have you located a parts source?

Mine was trouble free, but I had it tuned every two months.
