on: May 18, 2010, 04:54:25 PM
Does anybody have scores to this piece:
Tchaikovsky arr.Rachmaninov Cradle Song A-flat minor Op.16 No.1
I would be very grateful for any support.

Is this it?

I found it at

— if that’s not what you’re looking for, or if you need help with the Russian, let me know.

I noticed, that this isn't exactly what I am looking for. The point is,that there is probably two different version of this piece- You can compare by hearing Rachmaninovs performance and one by cherkassky. The latter is completely different piece, could You help me to find the version which plays Cherkassky on Youtube (my account on Youtube)
I'd be veeery grateful!!

It's also known as the Lullaby, if that helps.

My scanner is broken, else i would have mailed it.
But its indeed a rachmaninov arrangement of Tchaikovsky's Romances, opus 16 no1 with the nickname 'Lullaby' or 'Cradle Song'.

Cherkassky does not appear to play exactly that version.

I compared the scores (i myself never have played this piece) and indeed it seems cherkassky isnt playing the rachmaninov transcription at all. Moire composers arranged Tchaikovsky's song no1, maybe you should look into those.

Indeed also a very nice arrangement. I never encountered sheetmusic for Hamelin's left hand etude though wich is a pity. I'd love to play this version
