EverTune, could keep a piano in tune

I saw an article on the guitar side. It says they want to use it on piano.
I'm not sure exactly how it works. I'm kind of having a hard time buying it if something is adjusting tuning but no human ears or even machine ears are involved. It doesn't take much to make a string out of tune.

An inventor/engineer named Don Gilmore in Kansas City has had a self-tuning mechanism for pianos in the works for years. For some reason, it hasn't been brought to market (yet, anyway ... that I'm aware of).
I wonder if the technology of the EverTune system is similar (and, more importantly, if it can be retrofitted to the legions of pianos that are already out there).

Gibson has had a 'robotic' Les Paul for years now. Pretty damn spendy, too. A little much to ask on a guitar that's already expensive. I'd rather tune myself, thank you very much.
The reason this works well on guitars is that the string tension is but a fraction of that on a piano. I can't see it being put on "classic" guitars like the Fender Stratocaster and Telecaster either. But I'm sure that they will try to cram it in.

I was thinking that could prevent someone from using their ears as much for tuning.
