What Are the Best Piano Brands? (Video)
on: June 23, 2010, 08:19:46 AM
Here's a video on what I consider to be the best modern Piano Brands.

There are too many of those golden era brands left. There was a time when there was over 18000 piano manufacturers in the US alone. Now there are only 3!

Its incredibly silly to sort the best piano brands on country. He put the USA first while they have the most crappy brands. Only Steinway is good, wich is even half german.

You say something like "I'm going to tell you everything you need to know".. You really doesn't tell us anything. You name drop a few brands, and that's it .
(You say very very little about some plastic part aswell)

You say nothing about what's specific about the brands, price range, any history of the brand, and you even say that Steinway is an all-American Brand...

And the arpeggio, nor the chopin, nor the bach, works for me..

So well... I think you can do better than this.

I found it ok.  I don't know enough about pianos.  I was waiting for this guy to post his website or something he's selling.

And yes, I wouldn't mind hearing more about prices, etc.

Sorry some of you didn't enjoy the video.

I made this video primarily for people who are uninformed about pianos but are interested and looking to buy.

Steinway is an American company formed in 1853 by Henry Engelhard Steinway (a German immigrant). He made many pianos before coming to the US but the first piano manufactured under the Steinway name was built and sold in NY. Today their pianos are made out of NY and Germany, but it is very much an American Company.

And contrary to your beliefs, I'm not here to sell anything. Just sharing my videos and passion for the piano.

Thanks for watching.

Uhm, German immigrant=part German company..?

Anyway.. I think it's good that you try to inform ppl about different pianos. But you don't.
As I said, you only name drop a few brands.

It would be way better information if you said something about them . . . (Read my last post)

again, there is no point in sorting 'best brands' on country. Way better is just to compare sounds and touche of different piano's, bit about technical peculiarities and make a general list of brands that way. And btw, there are more brands to tell something about than Steinway and Yamaha ;)

Nope. Steinway and Sons is American Company, later they opened a factory in Germany because the company was started by German immigrants.

i think the kids at Mason and Hamlin, and Charles Walter would beg to differ.  I happen to like many examples of these much better in most cases, it depends on the particular SS, some i love, some i'd take a great mason or charles walter over them any day
