New Videos: Gershwin Piano Concerto
on: July 29, 2010, 08:28:35 PM
Thanks to YouTube allowing larger videos, I am now able to upload my full performance of the Gershwin Piano Concerto. The performance/recording was on September 2007 at Texas Christian University.

Here is the link to the 1st movement

The 2nd movement can be seen at

Please feel free to post your comments on the respective YouTube page :)

Although I miss the trumpet solo, this is a great and passionate performance of the Gershwin, and I do greatly enjoy it. Thanks for sharing; I look forward to browsing your other videos.

Do you teach at Texas Christian?
Don't let anyone know where you tie your goat.

Thank you for the kind comment. I hope you and other members of Piano Street will take time to check out my videos and comment on them :)

As to your question, no. I don't teach at Texas Christian. I attended Texas Christian between 2006 and 2008.
Since 2008 I teach in a private school of music in Grapevine. The school is called The Master's Touch School of Music and you can view it at https://themasterstouchschool.com/index.html
And obviously, I accept students from all over. So if anyone is interested, sign up for lessons :)

Very much enjoyed your performance, and also the Fantasy-Inventions you play. You play with alot of heart.  :) My teacher played the Gershwin in October--- such a great piece!

Your post is doubly interesting bc I recognize you're in PepsiCo recital hall, right? I auditioned there in Jan, and will be attending TCU this fall as a piano perf major. Still don't know who my teacher is to to be though, which I find a little disturbing considering school is only two wks away  :-\

Were you at TCU for your graduate degree or doctorate?

The Fantasy-Inventions is very special to me. It was written by the composer Carter Pann, a friend. And if I recall correctly, at the time of that performance, I was the 2nd pianist to perform it.

The other works of that recital are included on my CD, which can be purchased directly from me ($10 per CD) This makes me think that I need to input my currently available CDs on my website.

yes, this was in PepsiCo.
I was at TCU for the Masters, which I still haven't finished (have the orals left, if I ever decide to finish).
My teacher at the time was Tamas Ungar and I learned a lot. I know the other teachers as well, but obviously I don't know how they teach.
And congratulations on being accepted at TCU.It is a good music school, although, in my opinion, too much directed toward academics not enough on performance and the art of performance. But again that is the case of 100% of the universities in the USA.
