Bach - Fugue in c minor BWV 546

Hello!

I'm working on the Liszt transcription this fugue and I am wondering what you think of my interpretation so far and what you think I should improve :)

I haven't been able to find any piano performances of this piece except Leslie Howard

Sorry for the shitty microphone

And the shitty piano.  But, apart from that, you did a great job.  It's not easy.  I wish I could hear it on a decent piano, because the voices sound like they're coming through, but the balance is upset at times and they sound banged out.  But, perhaps it's the piano.

It's probably a combination of both the mic and the piano. The piano is a bit harsh sounding and my current mic brings that out even more. If I am banging I haven't noticed it myself but I've had comments about my piano sounding harsh with my current means of recording before.

Do you have a few examples of where it sounds "banged out"?

Additional feedback is of course also very helpful!

Measure 22 when the theme appears in the top voice, eg.  But it's pretty constant throughout.  Listen to it.  But I'm sure it has a lot to do with the piano and mike.

Take Your Seat! Trifonov Plays Brahms in Berlin

“He has everything and more – tenderness and also the demonic element. I never heard anything like that,” as Martha Argerich once said of Daniil Trifonov. To celebrate the end of the year, the star pianist performs Johannes Brahms’s monumental Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Philharmoniker and Kirill Petrenko on December 31.
