Advice on competition repetoire
on: September 07, 2010, 10:55:22 PM
Hi, I'm preparing a repetoire for an amateur competition next April.  For the first round of the competition, they only allow 10 minutes max.  My current plan is to play the Chopin Nocturne in C minor and a Scarlatti sonata in C.  I'm now wondering if I should just do the Chopin Scherzo no. 2 instead.

I would appreciate any advice.  Thanks.

Record yourself and post your pieces in the audition room... It's all about how you play your pieces. Good luck

Thanks.  I agree - it's more important what I can play better.  Good point.

If i were you i would not replace the nocturne but the scarlatti's sonata!
Why don't you try the scarlatti's K466 sonata?It sounds amazing! :)
