5-year expansion plans:
on: October 22, 2010, 10:51:48 PM
Yesterday I was this big --------->     .

Today I got a little bit bigger ------>  .

December 1st, 2011  .

January 1st, 2013  .

April 23rd, 2016  . (the thing won't go any bigger, I think)

*warning*  this diagram is not to scale.  April, 2016 should be about 50 times much huger than that.  :-

Thank you in advance :).

I actually don't understand!  Do you mean because I used periods?  But, what's the joke?  OR, do you mean like punctuality, and the fact that it's actually ending in 2016, which seems more like six years from now vs. 5 (it's about 5 and a half)?

In any event, please give us your expansion plan.  Mine will hopefully NOT include elastic waistbands (at least not any more than I've already got, please).

My expansion plan?  I'm hoping to shrink a little more.  I don't have any longer term plans.  I'm just trying to survive now.  Everything is in survival and "wait and see" mode.  Always waiting.

Which I suppose is to keep pushing technique.  And chords.  Pushing the top.  Difficult work but I'm facing it head on and slowly making progress.  Very slowly.  I wish I knew how it worked better. I can't figure it out.

I am rather hoping to go in the opposite direction.

I couldn't help noticing that the leap you made from yesterday to today, compared with the leap you forecast from 2011 to 2013, is quite staggering.

Oh, you're good :).   I did think about that representation, actually!  The font wouldn't take the dot (and I didn't realize it would turn into a square :-) to the ultimate size I would want, so I was forced into scaling back along the way.  I deliberately kept the first growth representation despite it though.   The goal dot was supposed to fill the page much more ... in my head it looked more like a Japanese flag.

Well, I'll slink out of bed now, methinks :).

Piano Street Magazine:
Women and the Chopin Competition: Breaking Barriers in Classical Music

The piano, a sleek monument of polished wood and ivory keys, holds a curious, often paradoxical, position in music history, especially for women. While offering a crucial outlet for female expression in societies where opportunities were often limited, it also became a stage for complex gender dynamics, sometimes subtle, sometimes stark. From drawing-room whispers in the 19th century to the thunderous applause of today’s concert halls, the story of women and the piano is a narrative woven with threads of remarkable progress and stubbornly persistent challenges.
