Get the serial number, and contact the manufacturer.

There is a website out there you can submit a serial number to, and they will email you back with the age of the piano.  I used it to find out the corrupt dealer in my city was planning on screwing me into buying a piano MUCH older than it looked..

i cant remember that website however. - anyway, google in "Piano ages" or "Piano serial number" and maybe something will turn up.

Actually, it would be more like 1971 - 1972 - a piano made at the beginning of 1970 would have the serial number 980000.

1970 - # 978000
1971 - #1169000

The numbers shown are for the start of each year. Alvaro's piano falls between these serial numbers.

G fiore, what reference book do you have?
(oh, incidently, alvaro - listen to G fiore, it is more precise than my calculations.)
