How can I find out the age of a specific piano?

Get the serial number, and contact the manufacturer.

Ok, I have the serial...
But I cant seem to find the manufacturers email??
Its Yamaha Im trying to reach, can any1 help me out?

There is a website out there you can submit a serial number to, and they will email you back with the age of the piano. I used it to find out the corrupt dealer in my city was planning on screwing me into buying a piano MUCH older than it looked..
i cant remember that website however. - anyway, google in "Piano ages" or "Piano serial number" and maybe something will turn up.

I cant seem to find it, I just found one with all the American Made Yamahas and their serial numbers. Guess my piano wasnt made up north...

ok, this may help- I have this piano book all about the various corporations and such, and they list the serial numbers for pianos, sooo I have I have the serial numbers of a Yamaha piano made every ten years.
what is your serial number?

Actually, it would be more like 1971 - 1972 - a piano made at the beginning of 1970 would have the serial number 980000.

1970 - # 978000
1971 - #1169000
The numbers shown are for the start of each year. Alvaro's piano falls between these serial numbers.
