Um, need some new piano pieces to play...
on: November 10, 2010, 02:51:42 AM
Ok.I love playing piano, but like everything else, im picky about what songs I play. I stick mainly to what i like, and thats about it. So I need some suggestions for new songs to learn. Songs that I have learned lately that I like a lot are Raindrop by Chopin and Nocturne Op27 No2 by chopin.

Also, anyone know any very complicated christmas piano pieces??? Something with a somewhat classical sound? Other than ave maria, of course. :/

Well, Chopin's got another score, or so, of nocturnes you could look at. As well as another couple dozen preludes. If you're into a little more contemporary stuff, check out some Scriabin preludes, his earlier sets (e.g. Op. 11, Op. 17) are good introductions to his style. Or for more recognizable listenable (for most) stuff, check out Rachmaninoff's preludes and etudes-tableaux. Particularly op. 23 no's 4 and 5, and of course the C#min, posth.

As for Christmas stuff, there are dozen's of Christmas sheet music collections of varying difficulty to be had at basically any sheet music shop or website. Also check out George Winston's music. Some of it is rather evocative of Christmas, and sounds quite pleasing for the most part.

Do you think a comment such as that one is justification for reviving a thread after nearly four months?

Are you capable of any other sort of contribution to this board than resurrecting old threads only to add insipid one-line remarks?
What passes you ain't for you.
