Who has played and performed Liszt's HR#12?
on: November 14, 2010, 03:02:45 AM
I have two questiosn for those who have played and perfomed this piece.

1.- Who long did it take you to learn it properly?
2.- In your opinion, which is the most difficult part of the piece?

Thanks
The masterpiece tell the performer what to do, and not the performer telling the piece what it should be like, or the cocomposer what he ought to have composed.

1. Doesn't matter.  Everyone learns differently.

2. The "Dolce Con Grazia" section is probably the most difficult.  The whole thing is technically very difficult, but banging out chords is easy in comparison to that simple little melody.  It's as if Liszt decided to channel his inner Mozart by making that part as exposed as possible making it easy for you to screw up.
