New to Piano Street forums
on: December 16, 2010, 02:51:51 PM
I don't know how I had overlooked the forum feature of Piano Street these past years since I had become a member, but I'm glad to have found this new resource. Usually, my piano fixated friends sent me links from here, and we chattered back and forth over e mail. A few months ago, I started blogging about Piano, from soup to nuts, and added embedded instructional videos, performances of Scarlatti's essercizi and more. One flight of fancy took me to the funeral of a cracked plate (piano) based on a true story that I lived through with an impetuous piano buyer who fell for an "antique" 1905, mediocre but florid Proksch grand piano posted on the Internet. In fact she purchased it through A-440pianos inc. that was recently in the news. The CEO mentioned in the course of my epic, as it played out, plead guilty to smuggling ivories into the country. (Huff Post article, Nov. 2010) Oh, well, truth is definitely stranger than fiction.
