Do you have "Great Pianists on Piano Playing" by James Francis Cooke?  It is a compilation of interviews from 28 famous concert pianists from the first half of the twentieth century.  It includes interviews with Rachmaninov, Godowsky, Josef Hofmann, Josed Lhevinne, and Paderewski among others.  It is a very insightful book and provides some good advice on piano playing.  It is a Dover book and very cheap, too.
It also reveals some of the stereotypes deeply rooted in that era - pianists included.  For instance, Cooke refers to the indians as "red-skinned savages", and Rachmaninov speaks of the lack of mental capacity of the denizens of Africa.

I was thinking more on the lines of music books for piano, like for example some book with an absolutely amazing compendium of classical pieces or a book with the best piano sonatas from beethoven, something like that although I will look into that book of yours nightscape128

There's a series of anthologies by period that is decent.  I've heard it's not quite accurate though for editting.

It's editted by Denis Agay I think.
