There are plenty of decent digital pianos in that range. I had a feeling this place was a little too piano-snobbish for my question. Thanks anyways.
For a decent digital piano you'll have to pay at least 500$ (and very likely more). Second hand digital pianos usually have a big flaw so thats not really an option.But if you already know of good digital piano's in the 200-300 price range, why are you asking here? Just to call us snobbish?
Yes, those soft touch Yamahas have a very spongy feel to them. You get a much more realistic feel if you can hold out for a Yamaha P95 or the PX-130 around $500. I haven't tried anything in the $300 range that had a good piano style action. Of course there are other things to consider besides the action, but if you are a piano student the action has to be considered.
