...well, either the orchestra started too slow, or your son got nervous, rushed, and played faster than what was agreed. In any case, this performance sounded like it's performed by, well, a well-taught 9-year-old kid who has worked hard behind the piano. I hope he had fun playing with the orchestra, and I hope he has fun when playing the piano!

A real-live wunderkind!  I really enjoy hearing these little geniuses and watching their chubby little fingers overcome all those obstacles!  They never follow any hand position or particular technique.  They just get around it the way they know how!  I enjoyed the way he phrased that second theme - you can tell he loves playing the piano.  I would have been curious to hear the second movement.  I got the impression he has a good teacher as well.  Like Enzo, who is another wunderkind here, albeit a bit older now!

Yes he was nervous understandably as it was his first with an orchestra thus it wasn't a very clean performance.  His teacher is talented and wonderful.
