Please help me find a new piece to learn.
on: February 12, 2011, 11:43:01 PM
This is my first post here so lease be nice. ;D

Anyway, I'm having a difficult time deciding a new piece to learn. I'm self taught so I don't have a teacher. Even if I wanted a teacher there are none around my area so I'm SOL anyway.

So far the latest piece I learned was Dimitri Shostakovich's Waltz no#2 from Jazz Suite 2

&feature=related
(NOT me playing)

I can also play a this basic arrangement of Errol Garners' "Misty" I found and the first half of Erik Satie's "Je Te Veux"

Could anyone be kind enough to recommend me pieces around my level?

Hey Monk,
I'm only responding to welcome you to the forum. Welcome.
As being self taught myself I'm sort of lost here. If I had to choose something it would be in the order of a piece by Chopin or Mozart. They both have helped me out a lot and maybe they'll help you. Listen to a collection of their music and pick one that sounds good enough to try. Anyway that's my take on it. Good luck....

Musically, Jimbo
