Question from someone who knows absolutely nothing about music or piano
on: February 13, 2011, 07:31:50 PM
Hello, I'm a fan of piano music and hope to someday learn how to play (after I'm finished with my degree...). I just had a quick question I was hoping some of you seasoned musicians could help me with:
I'm looking for pieces of music similar to this:
Not knowing anything about music, I could not begin to tell you what specifically about this work is attractive to me. Any suggestions or leads would be greatly appreciated!
I understand this question is vague, I'm looking for opinions

Hi, I thought I'd answer this since nobody else has so far...I'm an amateur and I actually started out enjoying video game music, too, and still do...so I figured maybe I had something in common with you. I really love the original Final Fantasy theme, it's actually pretty easy to play, I bet there are youtube videos showing you how to play it. Anyway...you might consider teaching yourself how to improvise, its a great way to learn to play the piano. I later learned how to read music and play classical pieces...it actually doesn't matter what order you learn it in, but I thought I'd just throw it out there in case it helps
