Little baby person
on: February 25, 2011, 04:37:30 AM
Okay.  Now, I know this doesn't have all sorts of rhythmic action and arpeggios and things, and it's one main idea and maybe overall not too eventful, but I really wanted to improvise something like this, and so I did.  It's just a little baby step.  But, it seems also like something a baby is thinking inside of Mama  ;D.  Maybe I composed it when I was a foetus  ;D ... who knows?

Good! I enjoyed that, specifically the two note statement in the right hand, sounded like an augmented 7th(if that's the correct term, can never remember these theory things), b flat to b?
A little world of it's own!

You have a wonderful sense of melody. Simplicity is a great thing. This could almost be a little "mood prelude" or something like that (not that names are important, I never name my own pieces..lol). I also like the Satie like rhythm to the piece, like a heart beat or something.

The simplicity is what makes it great.
This piece works a bit therapeutic almost ;)..

Yeah, I somehow enjoyed that little statement, as well.  It spoke to me anyway.  I think it would be called a Major 7th, in this case, and would probably be considered A#, as I was in the key of B Major.  I don't know if that matters to you, but just in case it does, I thought I would clarify ... hee hee.  Even though I've got gaps in theory, and even though I don't want only to be a theory-head, I actually really quite like theory for what it is, too :).

Thank you!  I don't know if I understand correctly what "mood prelude" means.  Is that a "thing" in the world, or is that a specific name you think would fit just for this little piece alone?

The simplicity is what makes it great.

Well, I admit I sometimes quite enjoy simplicity. :)  It's just not the norm when it comes to Classical music, or even improv. of any sort, it seems.  I mean, not the norm as an ideal sound-destination, it seems.  I have to admit, it was actually a bit therapeutic for me, indeed.  Not that actually I had intended for it to be, but I found that it worked as such for me, and it's even more though than that to me, too.  Sometimes I think about doing some children's music recordings, especially for little tiny children for sleepytime, and this would be a candidate for something I would enjoy knowing is stilling their thoughts and filling their dreams :).

This is wonderful, m1469 :) so tender and loving. Simplicity in this sense is a great art. Or I could say a bit paradoxical: the power of simplicity and tenderness :)

I'm glad you think so!  I do agree, simplicity and tenderness are potentially immensely powerful.

Thanks, Littletune :).  I'm very happy if you think that way and if it met a need :).
