Some really old stuff...
on: February 27, 2011, 08:39:07 PM
Well yeah...two years ago I discovered this again on an old tape with my very first recorded Improvs from 1997 and a bit later. It's maybe rather annoying to listen to because it's *really* repetitive and associative. At some point I got into an improv on Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds ;D

But it feels like I am searching for "my" themes and elements. I was sleeping deeply, but always like waiting for my "awakening". Which happened finally in 2006. Years were passing by between my improvs, literally. The earliest recorded one after this and the related late nineties improvs is from 2003...
And I couldn't believe my ears...:-S when I (two years ago) discovered what appears at 4:01...my good ol' "m1469 motif" from "Sympathy" 2006....I didn't have any clue...:)

Oh and I forgot to say: another of my tendencies seems also already obvious to me: a sort of gravitational pull towards b flat minor at the end...:P

That's really cool Wolfi that you posted your old improvisations!  8) I'm listening now  :P  :)

(Maybe I'll post something too.....  :-\ I'm thinking about it for like two days already...  ::) ... but now I won't have time ... have to first listen to your improvisations and all the other new ones here   :P )

I've listened three times already, and I'm very much at home in your music. It is my youth. It is a very comforting picture. I don't want to leave.

That's amazing:) It's really something like a former life to me, with some hints: "look there is something!" But I couldn't hear. I was sleeping.

Thank you both for listening and for the comments :)

Its good listening to your old stuff and new stuff, seeing how they developed and changed over these years.
This piece is so reflective! calming and tranquil with some interesting twists and accidentals.
It really does get the emotion going! I think tonight ill set aside some recording time! been too long!
Thanks for sharing this old piece!

hi pianowolfi, I really enjoyed this. It sounds like you do some hand crossing in it? Like maybe playing that rising figure in the left and then using your right hand above and below? I love doing stuff like that, and having a conversation between the high and the low. Very cool. I'd enjoy hearing some newer stuff like this too!
