Yeah, I'm obsessed with Faure's music in general... <3

There's no way I can pick just one nocturne... !

Nocturne Nr 6 by G. Fauré is an intense dream. So melancholic, so full of music. It´s an internal struggle that does not resolve and when it does, it´s peace. Nr 6 is my favorite one.

Played by Samson François

I like no. 12, very mature and passionate.

Whenever I return to these pieces I'm struck by their sustained deep seriousness, nobility even, by the harmonic originality and melodic richness, and by the cleanliness of the writing, with nothing superfluous or overstated. Yet I'm always left with a feeling of vague dissatisfaction - something elusive there which is almost within reach but never quite attained, and without which (as with so much of Fauré) they're very very good but never quite great music.
