Old Improv from the vault
on: March 01, 2011, 05:52:30 AM
Vintage from 2003.  8)  One of my first recorded improvs.  I'm putting this up as I was inspired by the CX-5 thread to dig for old recordings of what this piano sounded like.

Piano: Kawai CX-5
Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach

Woah!  :o 8)

You've had that wild Quantum energy and sound for quite some time. It's a force of nature. Man, I would love it if you worked in my building. I'd love to pass by your door as you improvise, and I'd love to see the faces of the students in the hall, haha.

Something that caught my attention is the repeated figure starting at 6:35. It's uncanny...I have used the very same notes as a devise many times, but on the opposite end of the keyboard and going the opposite direction. A quick example I could find, was this from September 2008, starting a little after the 5 minute mark. I think I have some somewhere that are more extended, but my mind cannot bring them up at the moment. But hearing that blew my mind!
Don't let anyone know where you tie your goat.
