Identifying a Schönberg piece

Hi!

There's a video on YouTube about music and language (in Norwegian though), and in the beginning there is a quite nice piano piece by Arnold Schönberg:


Do anyone recognize this piece? Opus no.?

I don't believe this is by Schoenberg.  It doesn't reflect his style at all... It is not from op.11, op.19, op.23, op.25, or op.33, which are his published sets of solo works.  And, it just doesn't sound like him at all.

After even more research, I heard from the pianist playing this one, that this is (probably) one of the earlier pieces by Schönberg - without opus number. It is named just "Klavierstück", and was probably written in 1898, before he really got into the twelve-tone-technique (ttt). So you're completely right - this piece doesn't reflect Schönberg's (later) ttt-style. (However, one possibility is that it was written by Alexander von Zemlinsky. We don't know for sure.)

It is not any of the Zemlinsky works for solo piano that I am familiar with, and is definitely not a work by Schoenberg.

Are you sure that the piece isn't by Plagge?  Why is it that you say it is Schoenberg or Zemlinsky?
